Colin has over 12 years of capital markets experience, having begun his journey in 2005 in junior public equity. Colin worked on the issuer side of the business, in house, at the corporate development/IR desk. Colin successfully completed his CSC in 2008, which gave him a better understanding of the Canadian financial services landscape, deeper knowledge of industry standards & codes of ethics, as well as the ability to accurately assess company’s industry and market performance.
Colin went to work in house with a merchant bank in the fall of 2011 which broadened the horizon of his sector exposure and learned more about company structure and incubating private equity with a goal to take these companies public.
Colin stepped out in 2013 and co-founded a BC based EMD with Alberta and Ontario securities registration as well. He co-managed a desk of retail wealth advisors and successfully shelved, marketed and financed several micro-cap private and public companies. His EMD won private markets awards and also received honorable mentions in publications such as Fortune Magazine.
Colin joined Amuka Capital as an investment banking associate to further develop and finance private and public equity. Colin will be more focused on Institutional sales and relationships as well as for providing support to some of the retail sales desk for marketing and distribution. Colin is excited to be expanding the Amuka brand out to Western Canada and will be instrumental in helping Amuka Capital arrange junior public and private equity placements and developing aftermarkets.
Outside the capital markets, Colin is an amateur kickboxer registered under the BC athletic commission and volunteers with youth to introduce the sport and promote physical fitness, positivity and martial arts to children and teens.
